Terms of Service

Last updated: September 29, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Snap Video Analytics Ltd. ("Snap Video Analytics," "we," "us" or "our"), a company based in Calgary, Alberta. They cover your use of www.snapvideoanalytics.ca (including www.snapvideoanalytics.com, which redirects to it), our member platform, our video lessons, our live group video calls and anything else we offer online (together, the "Service").

Please read them carefully. They include a release for sports-related risks, limits on our liability and rules about where disputes are resolved.

For parents and guardians: most of our players are under 18. If your child uses the Service, you're agreeing to these Terms for yourself and on your child's behalf, and you're responsible for your child's use of the Service. Please go through the Rules of Conduct below with your child.

‍

Definitions

  • Player means a hockey player who uses the Service to learn.
  • Parent means a parent or legal guardian of a Player who is under 18.
  • Coach means a person with coach access to the Service, including coaches added by an Association.
  • Association means a hockey association, club, team or other organization that buys access for its players or coaches.
  • Member means anyone with an account, including Players, Parents, Coaches and Association contacts.
  • Our Content means everything we provide through the Service, including lessons, videos, curriculum, modules, text, graphics and software.
  • Your Content means anything you upload or submit, including game clips, lesson answers, questions, assessment responses, profile information, photos and messages.

‍

Accepting these Terms

You accept these Terms when you check the box at sign-up, create an account, buy access or use the Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

  • If you're 18 or older, you can accept these Terms for yourself.
  • If you're under 18, a Parent must review and accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy before you use the Service.
  • If you accept for an Association, you confirm you have the authority to bind that Association.

‍

Players under 18 and parental consent

The Service is designed for youth hockey players, and most of our Players are under 18, the age of majority in Alberta. A Parent must give consent before a Player under 18 creates an account or gives us any personal information. This applies even when an Association or Coach provides the sign-up link.

‍

By giving consent, the Parent confirms that they:

  • are the Player's parent or legal guardian and have the authority to agree to these Terms;
  • agree to these Terms for themselves and on the Player's behalf;
  • consent to us collecting, using and sharing the Player's personal information as described in our Privacy Policy, including recording the Player in live group video calls;
  • are responsible for the Player's use of the Service and for any fees they've agreed to pay; and
  • will supervise the Player's use of the Service as appropriate for the Player's age.

Parents can contact us at any time to review their child's information, ask questions or close their child's account. We may ask for proof of consent and may suspend an account until we receive it. If we learn that a Player under 18 is using the Service without Parent consent, we may suspend the account and delete the Player's information.

‍

What the Service includes

Snap Video Analytics is an online hockey video-analysis education program. Depending on your plan, it can include monthly modules of video lessons, lesson tasks and questions, the ability to upload game clips for review, progress tracking, live position-specific group video calls and announcements from our staff. Everything is delivered online. There are no physical goods.

  • Your access starts when your payment is confirmed. For Association seats, access starts once the Association's invoice is paid.
  • Modules become available on their scheduled unlock dates, which are shown in the platform.
  • The program runs by season. The in-season program runs from October to March, with separate spring and summer programs.
  • Personalized feedback on your clips is included only if your plan says so. Our staff may comment on submissions at their discretion, but we don't promise individual feedback on every clip, answer or question.

We may change the program, including the order of modules, lesson content, unlock dates, call times and features, as long as the program you paid for stays substantially the same. If a change substantially reduces what you paid for, we'll tell you and you can cancel and receive a refund of the unused portion of any fees you prepaid.

‍

Accounts

  • Give us accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Each account is for one person. A seat is for one named Player and can't be shared, sold or transferred unless we or the Association reassign it.
  • Keep your login details private. You're responsible for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
  • Invite and sign-up links from a Coach are only for the Players on that Coach's team. Don't share them with anyone else.

‍

Coaches

If you have Coach access, you also agree to:

  • use Player information and Your Content from Players only to coach the Players on your own team through the Service;
  • keep Player information confidential and not download, copy, screenshot, share or post any Player's clips, answers, profile information or social media details outside the Service;
  • communicate with Players in line with your Association's safe sport and communication policies, such as the Rule of Two;
  • tell us right away if you stop coaching a team, so we can remove your access to those Players; and
  • follow your Association's code of conduct and screening requirements.

We don't hire, screen or supervise Coaches added by an Association. Each Association is responsible for choosing and screening its own coaches.

‍

Associations and team purchases

When an Association buys seats, the Association is our customer for billing. The Association is responsible for:

  • giving us accurate information about its teams, Coaches and billing contact;
  • paying its invoices on time;
  • the conduct of the Coaches it adds; and
  • letting its families know about the program and pointing them to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Every Player on an Association seat must still complete sign-up, including Parent consent where it's required. Coaches and Players get access after the Association's invoice is paid, and we may pause access if an invoice goes unpaid. The Association's billing contact sees billing information only and doesn't see Players' clips, answers or profile details.

If an Association has a separate signed agreement with us, that agreement controls where it conflicts with these Terms, but only between us and the Association. These Terms still apply to every Player, Parent and Coach.

‍

Prices, payments and automatic renewal

  • Prices are shown in Canadian dollars at checkout or on the Association's invoice, plus applicable taxes such as GST.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe, and Stripe's terms apply to your payment. We don't receive or store full card numbers.
  • Monthly plans renew automatically. Your payment method is charged each month on the same date until you cancel. Season or one-time plans are charged once and don't renew.
  • Association seats are billed monthly as shown on the invoice. If the Association saves a payment method, it's charged automatically each billing period until the Association cancels.
  • We'll email you at least 30 days before a price change applies to your renewal. You can cancel before the new price takes effect.
  • If a payment fails, we may try again and may pause access until the payment goes through.
  • If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer instead of contacting us first, we may suspend your access while the dispute is resolved.
  • Discounts and promotional prices apply only as stated when they're offered.

After you buy, we'll email you a confirmation with the details of your purchase.

‍

Cancellation and refunds

  • You can cancel a monthly plan at any time from the Billing section of your account or by emailing us. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for.
  • All fees are non-refundable. We don't give refunds or credits for partial months, unused lessons or missed calls, except where the law requires it or where we decide otherwise.
  • If we cancel the program or close your account without cause, we'll refund the unused portion of any fees you prepaid.
  • If we close your account because you broke these Terms, you won't receive a refund.

Nothing in these Terms limits any cancellation or other rights you have under Alberta's Consumer Protection Act that can't be waived.

‍

Rules of Conduct

Everyone who uses the Service agrees not to:

  • bully, harass, threaten, insult or embarrass anyone, including other Players, Coaches, officials or Parents;
  • post or upload anything hateful, sexual, violent, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate for youth;
  • upload clips or images meant to mock or embarrass another player, or that show anything other than hockey play;
  • share another person's personal information, such as their address, phone number, school or social media accounts;
  • record, screenshot, download, copy or share lessons, live calls or other Members' content;
  • share your login or seat, or let anyone else use your account;
  • pretend to be someone else;
  • use the Service, as an adult, to contact Players you don't coach, or to move conversations with Players to private channels;
  • try to get around our security, access areas you aren't allowed into, scrape data, reverse engineer the platform, upload malware or overload our systems;
  • use the Service to advertise, sell or recruit, including for player agents or other programs; or
  • break any law or the rules of your Association.

We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules. If we have a serious concern about a child's safety, we may contact the Player's Parent, Coach or Association, child protection services or the police.

‍

Live group video calls

  • Our live calls are held on Zoom, and Zoom's terms apply to your use of Zoom.
  • Join only with the link we give you, and don't share it.
  • Turning on your camera and microphone is optional. Use your first name as your display name and join from an appropriate place.
  • We record every live call so Members who couldn't attend can watch it later. Recordings include the video, audio and chat of anyone who shares them. They're posted only inside the member platform and are deleted at the end of the season they were recorded in. If you don't want to appear on video in a recording, keep your camera off and use the chat.
  • Only we can record calls. Don't record, screenshot or stream any call yourself.
  • Parents are welcome to sit in with their child.
  • We may remove anyone from a call who breaks the Rules of Conduct.

‍

Your Content

You, or the Player, keep ownership of Your Content. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process (for example, to compress or convert video), display and show Your Content to our staff and to the Player's Coach or Coaches. We can use this licence only to provide, protect and improve the Service. It lasts while Your Content is on the Service, plus the time it takes for deleted content to clear from our backups.

We won't use a Player's name, image, clips or answers in advertising, on social media, in testimonials or on public pages without separate written consent from the Player's Parent, or from the Player if they're 18 or older. That consent can be withdrawn for future use at any time.

When you upload a clip, you confirm that:

  • you have the right to upload it, whether it comes from InStat, TPE, a parent's recording or somewhere else;
  • uploading it doesn't break the terms of the platform the footage came from; and
  • it doesn't infringe anyone's copyright, privacy or other rights.

Game footage often shows other players. Upload only clips of your own shifts, and only for coaching. We use clips only for coaching inside the platform. If your child appears in another Player's clip and you'd like it removed, contact us and we'll review it.

We don't review everything before it's posted, but we may review, refuse or remove any of Your Content at any time. Keep your own copies of anything important. The Service isn't a backup service, and we delete Your Content after an account closes as described in our Privacy Policy.

‍

Our Content and intellectual property

The Service and Our Content, including our lessons, videos, curriculum, frameworks, logos and the Snap Video Analytics name, belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws.

While you have active access, we give you a personal, non-commercial, non-transferable licence to view Our Content through the Service. We can revoke this licence if you break these Terms. You may not copy, download, record, screen-capture, republish, sell, rent, sublicense, distribute or make derivative works from Our Content, or use it to run your own training program. Coaches may use Our Content only to coach their Players on the Service, and not to teach other teams or programs.

Some lessons include short clips of professional games used for analysis and teaching. Those clips belong to their owners. If you send us suggestions or feedback, we can use them without any obligation to you.

‍

Copyright concerns

If you believe something on the Service infringes your copyright, email us with a description of the work, where it appears on the Service and your contact information. We'll review it promptly and remove or disable the content where appropriate.

‍

Health, safety and sports risks

Hockey is a physical, contact sport with a real risk of injury, including concussion. The Service provides educational video analysis and coaching concepts. It isn't medical, physiotherapy, fitness or nutrition advice, and it doesn't replace in-person coaching or supervision.

  • Apply what you learn only in supervised practices and games, within the rules for your age and level and within your physical abilities.
  • Stop and get medical advice if you feel pain or have signs of an injury or concussion.

To the fullest extent the law allows, you, and a Parent on a Player's behalf, accept the risks of playing and training, and agree that we aren't responsible for injuries that happen during any on-ice or off-ice activity.

‍

No guarantee of results

A player's development depends on many things outside our control. We don't promise any specific result, including improvement, making a team, ice time, rankings, scholarships, draft selection or recruitment.

‍

Third-party services and links

The Service works with or links to services we don't control, including InStat, TPE, Zoom, Stripe, Substack and social media platforms. Their own terms and privacy policies apply, and we aren't responsible for them. We aren't affiliated with or endorsed by InStat, TPE, Hudl, the NHL, Hockey Canada, Hockey Alberta or any association, unless we say so in writing.

‍

Availability and changes to the Service

The platform is new and keeps improving. It may have interruptions, errors or maintenance periods. We work to fix problems quickly, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may add, change or remove features at any time.

‍

Suspension and termination

You can close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or close your account, remove content or refuse service if:

  • you break these Terms;
  • a payment fails or an invoice isn't paid;
  • we need to protect a Player's safety or the security of the Service;
  • the law requires it; or
  • for an Association seat, the Association's access ends.

When your access ends, your right to use the Service stops. Anything in these Terms that by its nature should continue will continue, including amounts owed, intellectual property, disclaimers, limits on liability, indemnity and dispute terms.

‍

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, representations and conditions, whether express or implied, including those of merchantable quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy and availability. Nothing in these Terms excludes any warranty or condition that can't be excluded under applicable consumer protection law.

‍

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows:

  • We, and our directors, officers, employees, contractors and agents, aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or opportunity (including roster spots, scholarships or recruitment).
  • We aren't liable for anything caused by other Members, Coaches, Associations, third-party services or events outside our reasonable control.
  • Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that led to the claim, or $100 if you haven't paid us anything.

These limits apply to every kind of claim, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), under statute or otherwise, even if we were told the loss was possible. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law.

‍

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Snap Video Analytics and its directors, officers, employees, contractors and agents from any claims, losses, damages and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from:

  • Your Content;
  • your breach of these Terms or of any law, or your violation of anyone else's rights;
  • for Parents, your child's use of the Service; and
  • for Coaches and Associations, your handling of Player information and the conduct of your coaches.

‍

Communications

You agree that we can communicate with you electronically, by email or inside the platform, and that these communications meet any legal requirement for communications to be in writing. Service messages, such as receipts, account notices, schedule changes and safety notices, go to the Member and, for Players under 18, may also go to the Parent. We send marketing emails only with consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Our Privacy Policy has the details.

‍

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information, including information about Players under 18. It forms part of these Terms.

‍

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll post the new version with a new "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, we'll email Members (and Parents of Players under 18) at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, you accept the new Terms. If you don't agree, cancel before the change takes effect.

‍

Disputes and governing law

  • If you have a concern, contact us first. We'll try to resolve it informally within 30 days.
  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
  • You and we agree that the courts of Alberta, sitting in Calgary, have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute relating to these Terms or the Service.
  • Nothing in this section takes away any right you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived.

‍

General

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, our Privacy Policy, any plan terms shown at checkout and any signed Association agreement are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect, and the unenforceable part will be applied to the fullest extent the law allows.
  • No waiver. If we don't enforce a part of these Terms right away, we haven't given up our right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment. You can't transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours as part of a sale, merger or reorganization of our business.
  • Events outside our control. We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events we can't reasonably control, such as outages at our service providers, internet failures, natural disasters or government action.
  • Relationship. We're independent of every Association, and nothing in these Terms makes either of us the agent, partner or employee of the other.
  • Interpretation. "Including" means "including without limitation." Headings are for convenience only.
  • Language. These Terms are written in English, and the English version controls.
